Artist's Description

Pattern inspired by mid-century modern Christmas ornaments and the various shapes of the botanical elements of the yew tree. Botanicals were hand painted with watercolors, embroidery was brought in for designing the hanging elements. Motifs brought into Photoshop to be arranged into a pattern.

When painting, founder Elizabeth Reich sets out to portray the emotions felt and the view seen, when the natural element(s) inspired the question "How would this be painted?" Elizabeth is not always a watercolor traditionalist, she enjoys exploring other mediums to mix with watercolors to achieve the feeling and visual scene that inspired the art. Elizabeth returned to art 10 years ago, after a moment of introspection she asked herself "What would my 8 year old self want to do?" The answer was "Watercolor!"
